i want to get an exhaust for my car and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas. i have a 2002 sunfire 2.2 2200. the sound that i want is NOT loud i dont want a loud farty sound i just want a little deeper sound than it is now. my GF's dad has a 2003 sunfire GT and i like the sound of that. i was wondering if thers a way to get a simillar sound, do i get a tuner exhaust like a can style or an oval or like traditional style on from like flowmaster or magnaflow. lastly is it something that i can do myself (i have a ;ift at work) or does it need to be welded
some people have gotten a magnaflow muffler. then have a local shop bend you some pipe then weld it together. a resonator will help cut down on the raspiness/bumblebee sound. some say to go with a 18 inch resonator at least. to get the most out of an exhaust, a header is recommended
but remember, no 2 cars will sound the same

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
The GT has a 2.4L engine which sounds much deeper than the 2.2L in the first place. So you'll have a hard time gettting the same sound. A good reasonator and higher flowing muffler would be your best bet.
You could try replacing the stock muffler with a DynoMax SupeTurbo muffler. It's a little louder than stock but it should give you a nice, mellow tone.
do you know what size would fit my car ?
I have a flowmaster on the same car as yours, send me an email if you wanna hear it. it's hard to get a deep sound out of a 2200 but I guess a resonator helps. I don't have one
This is what I have going in on the 10th...
Pacesetter header, Magnaflow Hi-Flow Cat, Cherry Bomb 22" glasspack, and some muffler that I have no idea of the brand, but hey it looks nice (xmas gift from sis's fiancee)... couple that with 2.25" piping... I have no idea how this will sound... but for almost $700 in parts and labor, it better sound decent
