I was wondering if anyone knows whether an A/C compressor from a 1994 2.2 ltr will fit properly in a 93 2.2. RS. I looked at several online and for some reason they list the 93 and 94 compressors differently even though they are basically the same cars with most parts interchangeable.
If any one knows the reason (different hose openings, different freon, etc.) please let me know. I can purchase a 1994 compressor from a lower mileage parts car that a 93 model.
Thanks everyone.

P.s. if anyone has the infamous head gasket leak problem, let me know. I replaced my sister's leaking gasket on her 1993 RS.
Im not really sure, the freon changed from r-12 to r-134a right about those years. If thats the only difference you can use either pumps. The only thing is if your using a 12 punp for 134 it may not last long. The 134 uses a higher head pressure and the 12 pumps have a hard time with that especially if the used one has a lot of use on it.
I should tell you that the clutch seals go on them like mad. The clutch will be all oily from refrigerant oil, (wont hold a charge) Personally I wouldnt buy a used one. If you buy a new one they require you to buy a new dryer and flush the system to get a warranty. You dont have to change the dryer or flush it. Well before you decide not to flush it you need to pull the expansion valve out to check for metal shavings. Its in the high side line (little one) just before you get to the condenser. the line will have small crimp marks in it about two in from the fitting. Take the line apart and pull it out with a pair of needle nose pliers pay attention which wat it came out. clean it with some carb spray and put it back in.
