Doing what i was told throughout my schooling, I'm making a long term goal of having a nice car for the future. How ever, my plans include either getting something like an MKIII or MKIV Supra, Integra GS-R, Prelude, something thats fast off the bat, and garners respect for the most part. My querry is, instead of dropping 20K on a Supra, can car loans be used to buy a cheap car, say like an Ecotec. for the blue book price, and use the rest to mod the car? Exterior, performance, all of the above. I have a feeling the answer is no, but I'm a youngin who's trying to better himself by learning. Any help is appreciated.
Not really, the LAST thing you should ever do is finance modifications. They are worthless after you put them on, and banks won't give you more than the amount of the car (because if you stop paying, they can't get anything more than what blue book says its worth).

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
if it is a personal loan sure you can spend it on whatever you want. but can't really do what you want with your standard car loans unless the parts are obtained directly thru the dealer type situations. and just because you have a supra doesnt mean you will get respect either. anyone who's respect is worth having won't judge you by what car you own they will judge you on the person you are. anyone who respects you just because of the plastic badge on the hood of your car isnt worth your time.

If you are doing what you were taught in school, you would not be getting a loan for mods, for a j-body.
