i put my car away last year at the end of october took it out in mid may and since then my passlock always kicks in at less once a week if not more....what could be the problem .......anybody
How do you mean that your passlock kicks in???
Like the light comes on when your driving or....???

if the lights is blicking in the dash it will not start for at less 10 mins if not longer....
K.
If ur cavy is a 2000 like it says in ur cardomain, your passlock is "dependent" on...
- the lock cylinder
- the ignition switch
- body control module (BCM, 00-05 models)
- the Powertrain Control Module (ECM)(PCM)
So, that means that if anyone of those are changed, it's gonna keep ur car from starting.
The wierd thing is that it kicks on every once in a while, in theory it should only do it once. You can try this...
Quote:
00-05 J-car
1. Turn ON the igniton, with the engine OFF.
2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).
3. Observe the SECURITY telltale, it will be flashing. After approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.
4. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes. The vehicle is now ready to relearn the PASSlock Sensor Data Code and/or passwords, on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK.
IMPORTANT: The vehicle learns the PASSlock Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You MUST turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.
6. Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the PASSlock Sensor Data Code and/or password.
Another thing if that doesn't work, do u have a remote starter??
It's prolly a good start to do those steps and see what happens.
Let us know.
