Hello Everyone!
I have a 1998 cavalier z24 2.4
My question is related to my brakes i think its more my back drum brakes. I had two different mechanics look at all my brake pads and brakes in general and they stated my pads are good and everything is working correctly. Its seems that when i brake sometimes normal but more when i brake fast and hard that my "back" brakes are locking up and its sounds like my abs is acting up due to that weird noise that abs brakes make when locking up. Sometimes it does it when i am just coming down a driveway or parking in a parking space. I am afraid i am going to have an accident because it is not stopping correctly... and slides instead of stopping. If anyone can give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!
Oh yeah "FYI " my abs light is not on.

I have the same problem, but it is usually at slower mphs. I haven't noticed it while driving on the streets. I just notice it in parking lots, driveways, ect. I had mine checked out and the mechanics said nothing looked wrong with them. Also my ABS light had never turned on.
mine in the front when i hit the breaks and i skid (like on ice or wet roads) will make a knocking noise. Cant figured out what from but they do. Now my back breaks are starting to lock and will thump when i start to go again. Like if im coming to a red light and it turns green before im completely stoped i'll hit the gas and the back with thump hard.
Hmmm....whatever happend to the "Maintenance" forum.....
Sorry i am new to this forum! i didnt know where to post these problems. Thanks
