Ram air style intake

Didn't know where to post this so i posted it here. I got Grillrds old hood the Turbo sport one from ClassGlassperforamce.com. WEll i was wondering how much of a difference it would make to make a ram air style intake to fit that hood? Like the WRXs i believe have something like im after. Just something that comes off the TB into a flat pan type thing with an air filter right under the scoop. Would it be worht it?

the only time you see a performance gain with a ram air set up is around 100mph.

air from outside the engine bay will most likely be cooler always.....not just after 100mph. Think about it, free flowing cooler air passing over the hood is going to be better than air in the engine compartment that is warm from engine operation.

Just make sure that if you do decide to do this you have some sort of system to catch the water when it rains....otherwise you wont have a motor to ram any air into

Hell might be a fun project as a track only setup!

The WRX hood scoop is used for the intercooler since it uses a top mount instead of front or side mount, not for any kind of ram air effect
