Well, you push the car, turn the ignition on, and pop the clutch in a high gear, like 3. As soon as the engine starts, push in the clutch.

Its a learned skill though, and is really hard on the engine, so should be avoided.

Bout 5-10 mph should do it.

the manual says this should be avoided. But I've done it before in an old pickup. it's a decent way to start if the situation requires.

Sometimes, though, the avoidable must become the unavoided. 'Specially when your starter goes out (as has happened to me once already)

Just get some guy to push it till its rollin good and pop the clutch with the tranny in gear and as soon as she fires up you have to put the clutch in fast or itll stall , helps out if your battery dies or starter takes the sh!t

Ok i gotta ask why such a high gear?? I've done it in first a dozon times..... the biggest threat mechanically I think is that the timing belt or chain may slip and then you are headed for a bent rod or worse

The higher gear is acutally easier on the engine. It will allow the engine to ease into the start rather than abruptly forced.
