I would HIGHLY suggest figuring out why you're missing coolant before doing anything.

yea i know but i need the car so i need to refill it. See heres the problem. Last week my car start to show the Low Coolent light but it would only come on for like 5 mins then go off. Well i forgot about it till this week and i never got around to gettin coolent for it. Well i left today to go to a friends and next thing i know i look at the gauge and it was at RED! im like F$%^ and i pulled over quick and it went right down to normal within a mn. so all day it kept doin it so then i went to work and when i came out the car ran fine but then it started to over heat so i slowed down and it would help keep it out of the yellow. Heres what i seen the way home. The car would run at normal temp while the light was on but when the light would go off the car would start to over heat. its odd. I got home and looked i cant see anything leakin from the head anywhere nothings wet anywhere. under the car i coudln't tell cuz i hit a puddle comin in the drive way. Another thing is that today was the hotest day of the year around here at around 105F

Classic signs of a blown head gasket. The exhaust probably has a slightly sweet smell too.
The leak stop stuff isn't going to fix anything. Might get you home for the night, or week. But it will blow through in no time.

What engine do you have? The 2200's water pump is on the front passenger side. The 2.4's is on the back side, but they don't usually go bad.

I don't know where you get the idea that a 2.4 water usually doesn't go bad. YES, they do. I had to replace mine 2 years ago. From what I have also read on the org, they are notorious for going bad.

Ryan, sure sounds like a water pump to me.

Another thing to do would to be to check all your hoses... I had a similar problem and it got so bad that I blew out my motor. After I replaced t he motor I was good for about 2 weeks and then the light came back on. I replaced the the hose that connects the radiator to the motor and the coolant reservior and not my car does overhead at all and I haven't leaked out any coolant. Whatever you do, dont drive the car assuming that you can catch it before it overheats... I ended up with a blown headgasket and warped heads from it getting too hot.
