welcome to the .org!

common problems would be things like burning oil (maybe liike a quart a month if even that), rear drums sometimes have a tendency to stick a little bit when the air is moist, or its just rained or something (only after not being driven for a while, like a day or so), and basically just the common stuff, like doing stupid things will cause stupid problems, u kno stuff like that. outside of that i cant really say, im sure theres some more, but theyre nothing too drastically bad... which engine are you gonna have, do you know? 2.2, or 2.4?

It's a 2003, hence it has the 2.2L ecotec. Good luck on the purchase, make sure to check for the obvious used car things, such as previous accidents (panels dont line up, resprayed paint... etc), and make sure you take it for a test drive - any loud clunking or popping noises could mean the strut mounts are no good - common problem in 2000+ j's.

oh, make sure it doesnt hurt when you sit in the seat for a test drive. it means you are getting screwed. its a common problem at car lots.
