Hey guys im new to this site and i drive a 1988 sunbird gt turbo convertable.
i am having some current trouble with stalling at idle. im taking it in to get scaned. but hopefully i will be able to get this problem fixed becasue i have a manual boost controller going on. so i was just sayin hey whats up guys.

Ryan, wikipedia.org is looking for info on that Sunbird. Very rare car from what I understand. Pics and info like build numbers, hp and torque, etc. Maybe you should look them up if you have anything to add to their library. Good luck with your problem. I don't know much about turbos except they make a cool noise and go crazzzy fast...
Welcome to the 1st gen owners club.Ur car should be rated at 150hp with ur engine code M with the 2.0 turbo mfi .As for the stalling issue it could be either the IAC (idle air control) code 35 or maybe the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) code 32.Those are are not uncommon but ,maybe a possible.With ur car being a automatic it is possible that ur TCC torque clutch convertor is bad and will normally cause poor idle while driving or rather coming to a stop or shifting from park to reverse and into drive.There are several factors and u should check the first gen forum and post stuff with those who r far more fluent with ur year specific car!Doing a diagnostic code check is simple and would strongly advise in buying a obd1 scanner for this since that is what ur yr model requires.Please post some pics on a host sight like photo bucket,cardomain or something since jbody does not support hosting pics directly and share with the community what u have there.Btw ur car is a over head cam eng and the engine code is M as stated above.OK
I can't believe I goofed u have a second gen cav!I realized it after the fact so check out the second gen forum.Sorry about that one.But none the less I hope the info I provided is useful and should be correct and the scanner obd 1 is what u can buy since obd 2 is for newer yr models.
