Alright, just thought i'd introduce myself. I do not have a j-body car, but was pretty close to getting one. My friend has a 1997 Sunfire SE 4-door that we beat the crap out of. We didnt plan to, but we had another friend at the time and he's the cause of all the accidents/problems. 2 years ago, it was a really nice car, but now its just a hunk of crap. If anybody can help me with these problems, it'd be greatly appreciated.
First off... whenever the a/c is off, there is a distinct "chain rattle" sound and it has gotten louder over the years. Once a/c is on, it goes away.
Second... the same friend that crashed the car pushed the air bag cover into the dash, and once we popped it out, it would not close again because the plastic channel that the rubber tie down goes into is cracked. Do we get a new one or can we fix it with JB-Weld?
Third: The same friend that broke the air bag cover tried to drift in the car and slid into a telephone pole. The entire passenger side rear quarter panel is bent to @!#$ and had to have the frame straightened. There is a visable weld in the wheel well but whenever we hit a bump or turn, we hear a loud creaking and lots of squeaks. The whole rear end assembly had to be replaced. What could the squeaks/creaks be from?
Fourth: It doesnt seem to have good pickup unless the pedal is on the floor, because that thing flies once its at WOT
Fifth: The reclining handle on the drivers seat is busted. How do we replace it? We have access to junk yards so thats not a problem.

BTW i know some of you will say to swap to the DOHC engine, but we dont have the time or provisions for such a swap. We dont think the car's worth it in the condition its in.
like i said, we really didnt mean to beat the crap out of it. The kid that did the actual distruction isnt in the picture anymore because of it. We're just trying to fix some of the problems so that we can sell it and buy another car.
I have a Saturn, so its not really that different... and i've been in auto mechanics all throughout high school.

Welcome to the org! H11 and H9 bulbs are pretty hard to find in stores. Go to www.aplusperformance.com and you can find bulbs for cheap. I think Jason is still running a GP for the luminics bulbs if you're interested.
