I have an extra muffler im selling to someone that has 2.25 piping, and the inlet size is 2.5. Can exhaust shops make a transition from 2.25-2.5 without replacing the whole piping? I know prices vary from shop to shop, but anyone have a general price?
actually, most auto parts places that sell piping and mufflers also sell reducers, they're really inevxpensive, i got one for my 89 for like $1.50 that will do exactly what your asking for from advance auto

stores like pepboys and advance auto parts sell adapters that go from 2.25 to 2.5". if the shop does exhaust work regularly, they should have those adapters in stock.
