Pulleys add a small amount of power. You'd be lucky to see 5HP.
If you have a stock car, I'd do a air filter or CAI first. You'll see the same sort of gains, costs about the same, and much less work to install.

I allready have an vibrant cold air intake ..my goal is to install a new header and cat back exhaust but thats a couple paychecks away...is it possible with out using nos to get 200hp out of a 2200 ..

Difficult..it will require a bit more than a few paychecks. If n/a, you'll want to look into upping compression. But you mentioned no nitrous, maybe a turbo?..in which case slap on a turbo with supporting fuel mods and go. Keep in mind, stock 2200 cavalier is rated around 95hp to the wheels depending upon its condition, filters spark sludge ...and a few more neglected maintenance problems. If n/a then good luck..I could see a 160-170hp engine from these mods, but I'm partial to forced induction

N/A list, for you crazy guys out there:

-lighter moving valvetrain -> faster through rpms, think connecting rods and rotating assembly

-more aggressive cam grind, keeping the lobes not too radical, aftermarket springs and retainers are an iffy subject around here and it would be easier to keep the lift within .048 (don't quote me on that number, search around for the stock lift)

-rockers, change from the stock 1.54 geometry to 1.6 must be narrow self guided unless you want to modify the head..2200 did not come with guide plates

-head work - don't ask me on this as I started my own thread pertaining to this very area haha..aggressive p&p is all I can add

-whole exhaust redone (not crush bent) and same diameter, the air flows only as fast as the smallest diameter allows, high flow cat etc.

-header, 4-2-1 or 4-1 you decide depending where you want your powerband

-port matched intake with a large throttle body if top end is your thing (otherwise the 2.3 with almost no modifications should be enough to not inhibit flow as much as stock and not kill your bottom end power). again with the powerband.

-higher compression pistons, if the compression is increased past a certain point you'll need premium gas to avoid detonation & knock retard, both bad for engine. One = death of engine other is limp mode which kills gas mileage and performance.

-stock springs and retainers and pushrods will stand the power you want, but lighter pushrods are always an option.

-solid lifters in comparison to the stock hydraulic ones, better response but you step into the world of custom..

Possibly more things to add but I can see an n/a 2200 SFI with these modifications getting within 30hp of your goal. It's only a cavalier, I'd rather slap a turbo on with supporting mods for far cheaper and keep a spare junker engine as backup for when you do something stupid, FI is a learning experience if done wrong it can bite you in the ass

ok lets talk turbo then ...what supporting mods do u talk about ..oh and a catback exhaust only cost me maybe half a paycheck if that hehe

if you wanna talk turbo with a 2200 then give me a shout in a pm or something thats what i used to have....its a waste of time although i ran a 14.0 for the few months that things held up..... i wacked a few 350z's and some bad drivers in evo's but then @!#$ just started falln apart on the motor so i now swapped to a z24 motor modded it out and im getting ready to spray it.......
