i would like to know whats the better swap a 2.4L or the 2.2 eco to go in my 2200 cav?
the 2.4 liter twin cam or the 2.3 liter quad 4 are prolly the best choices as they get good gas mileage in the city and have good power.
I drove my friends 95 grand am with it for a week and was fairly impressed
that one had the 2.3
But basicly the 2.3 and 2.4 are the same engine save for the 2.4 is newer and I think it has 5 more torque to it
I'm no professional, but just from my experience I would go with the ecotec. I had the quad 4 in my skylark before I wrecked it, and constantly something was breaking on it. Perhaps I just had a bad experience with it, but that's my 2 cents.
There's a bunch of different 2.3's. It all depend on what you want to do.
If you want to stay NA, go with a 2.4.
If you want boost, go with the Eco.

2.3 Ho
the 2.4 i think is the easy one cause it came in J-s for that year
but best overall id say ecotec. the 2.3 and 2.4 are dead horse motors. not much of an aftermarket for them. but the eco does
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!

dead horse motors that still make more power
i would do that but thats alittle bit to much ill rather put the eco and turbo it

I'm no expert on the 2.3, not a total expert on the 2.4 either but check my mods.
There ARE PLENTY of aftermarket parts available for the 2.4.
But now that GM is seriously into the ECOTEC there will be MANY parts available at many places for them.
