I was just looking at installs for the AEM CAI for my 2004 cav. It was messed. So I went to my car and looked under the hood.
I noticed there is like 1000 things going from the intake to somewhere else on the car. For real there is like 7 things. If I bought an ebay intake does it have the hook ups for all these things. It seems like the best thing to do is to get an expensive intake so that I dont have to worry about where all these things clip to.
If you have seen the AEM CAI install you know what I'm talking about.
I have a 2004 and an AEM intake... there are really only 2 things going to it... the intake air temp sensor and the line going into the valve cover for venting purposes (onto which a filter can be attatched if so desired)... the rest of the connections to the car are simply anchor points so the intake doesn't move around...

you'll also shed about 10 pounds of the cars weight, that stock stuff is heavy.

when I went and looked under my hood I seen the IAT sensor and the valve cover hose thats mentioned. But I also seen 2 small things going from places on the motor to around the same area as the IAT and valve cover hose. If you don't know which 2 little hoses or whatevers I'm talking about I will try and take a picture.
this is from my 2003 Cavalier
from left to right......
- connects to the fuel rail
- connects to the engine ( but like mentioned before can be replaced by a filter, like mine )
- IAT sensor
those should be all the things that ou need to reconnect
