need help here. my friends car is a 92 cav today he went to start it and when he took his hand from key it sprung back by it self and it turned car off lol he drove it holding key in run postion key also is stuck
Sounds like the ignition sweitch lost it's locking detent spring. You can get the swith (key and tumbler assembly from you auto parts store. You will need tiorx bit drivers, locking plate tool (available for free at many parts stores) and regular hand tools to change it. If you unsure how to do it, get a Chilton's or Hayne's manual (a must for the DIYer) for directions.
I ran into this problem in one of my other cars. It's just the ignition switch, nothing too serious.
