Hello all. this is my first post in this forum. i own a 01 cavalier (2.2 if it makes a difference) and have run into a problem. i have searched everywhere for a steering wheel hub kit that fits my car but nobody seems to make them for my model... anybody know where i might find a manufacturer that makes custom ones or might know of a way i can get a momo one to fit my car. apparently the upper steering column is bigger (or smaller) on the 01s to that of the older model cavaliers. i would appreciate some guidance on the subject. thanks in advance --j
95-05 are the same. They probably just released the product in 00, so they didn't list anything newer.
All newer GM small cars have the same steering column and whatnot.
CTS, thanks for the reply. i'll double check but it seems that all the distributors tell me the same thing... "the momo/whatever kit will not fit an 01 cavalier they only fit up to a 95 model".... anyway if anyone else knows of anything i'd appreciate the help. thanks again CTS! --j
Let us know what you find.
I know that GMs 95 - 99 J-body, 92-05 N-body, 01-04 H-body, 97-04 W-body all have the same steering column to steering wheel pattern. So I would be
extremely suprised if they changed the J in 00+.
That's the SIR system. (SIR= Supplemental Inflatable Restraints, or airbags).
hello again fellas and thanks for the replies in this matter...So, are you guys saying it should hook up? i don't have airbags (or anything else for that matter) in my car. it's gutted for touring. i really don't care for visual appeal of the interior (function really) i would just love to get that wire frame i call a steering wheel off, for a nicer racing one. anyhoo let me know what ya think. --j
u can use a hub off a 91 s-10 its the same as a cavalier if that helps
Thanks eric. i will look into that. --j
