Hello everone,
I am anewbie to the forum and have a few questions. I have a 2001 Sunfire, 4dr, auto with 130,000km on it. I bought it used at 114.000km and so far it runs just fine. A few questions:
1) The car is stock, Is there some mod (low cost) i can make on the car to increase it's lifespan more.
2) When i got the car the CD in the stereo was not working. I went out with a budget of 200$ CAD to get a replacement stereo with labor, but i learn that i need a relocation kit and the parts and labor cost alone will be 245$CAD plus the stereo cost so that was out of my budget so i returned the stereo. I saw a AUX button on the stereo but i did not see a AUX jack.. Is there a aux jack..if yes then where is it and what can i connect to it?
3) Can i repair the Stereo? If not how much will a new/used cost me? I miss lhistening to CD's so much.
I am located in Toronto, Canada.
Thanksl

1. not really
2. its a connector onthe back of the radio...and the adapter is costly...and sometimes doesnt work
3. probably, most likey there is jsut something stuck in the radio. but any shop is gonna charge a good deal to crack it open
sorry
I may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
buy a cheap cd player. then all you have to buy is the cage and wire harness. you can do it yourself, its really simple.
yeah u can just buy a new cd player and the cage and wireing for like around i would say 100 bucks so yeah and with something that would help your motor last cold air intakes r cheap help performance and i beleive helps make a car last a lil longer
OK So i buy the CD player and the harness and connect it where and how? I am guessing the old stereo still remains. Also can someone provide me more information on the aux jack. What kind of connector is required and why do you say that it works sometimes?
What do i exactly buy for cold air intake and whrre do i fix it?
Thanks,
Chetan
Take the old stereo out. The new stereo should come with a wiring connector, take the harness adapter and wire it to the new wiring connector (directions should be included with one or the other). Put the new stereo in the cage, put the cage where the old stereo was (don't forget to hook up the antenna too, will need a GM to universal adapter if it didn't come with the harness). There are 2 (or 3, can't remember) screws holding the radio in on the front. Piece of cake, ask in the audio section if you need more help.
