Hopefully I don't catch too much @!#$ for asking a question that has probably already been answered before. I searched shifter, but type anything after that and nothing comes up, but shifter comes up with over 500. Anyways, I recently drove my old 01 Z24 with a 5spd that my brother has been driving and I didn't realize how bad the shifter is messed up. That ball joint it really worn out and needs to be replaced. I am going to buy him a short throw metal/titanium or whatever comes up when I find out which one works. I have been shopping ebay for shifters and all it says is cavalier, sunfire, vauxhaul.... but doesn't say which model. My question is, are the transmissions in the regular 2.2L and the 2.4L the same? Will shifters work with either? I don't want to buy one that works for a 2.2L and not a 2.4L tranny. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please no search button remarks like is always given on LS2GTO por favor. Thanks for all yall's help, Tyler

They are both the same for that car because the 2.2 and the 2.4 have the getrag in that year
