Hey guys, It's been awhile so I thought I'd re-introduce myself. I'm the guy that was building a strictly-for-show '02 sunfire SE powered by the almighty OHV of FURY.
All that changed when I traded my baby in on an 06 Delta- Cobalt SS/SC to be precise. Well, the Cobizzle just pissed me off from day 1 (well, probably day 4 actually, when the dash started to rattle) and the pricetag to fun ratio started to shift in an unpleasant direction. So anyway, long story short- I turned the Cobalt in and am buying a 98 Sunfire GT from a friend of mine.
Now for the fun part- the 98 has a 2.4 LD9 swap with the secret (or not-so-secret) cam swap and the quad-4 intake manifold. Fuel pump's out at the moment, so I've got some work to do before she rolls, but I'm glad to be getting back to a J.
personal credentials. I am an ASE certified Technician (brakes, suspension and steering, and manual trannies are my specific certs for those that care to know). Funny little irony, I'm also Ford certified for pretty much every vehicle system. and before anyone gets sand in their panties about me being a Ford tech- they're all nuts and bolts, and a 4-stroke internal combustion engine works the same way no matter what's stamped on the block. I am also the proud owner of the 02 GM tech manuals for J bodies, so if anyone has 00-02 specific questions I'll be more than happy to loo look up anything for ya. Or any 3rd gen mechanical questions, since the only engine my manual doesn't cover is the quad-4.
Anyway, it's good to be back. I've already seen a few names I recognize, though it's doubtful anyone will remember me (at least I hope not- LOL, I made some pretty retarded comments here and there before I finished Tech School).
Looking forward to joining in, hope I can add a little, and I'll definately pick up more than I add.
Peace be with you all.
