Well after this horrible winter a couple of my tires look a little low. Problem is, I'm not sure what the correct tire pressure is! Unlike every other car I've owned, it doesn't say the proper pressure on the doors. Anyone know the proper pressure?
do not i swear do not go by the tire, that is the max pressure for the tire, inflating to that can cause premature tire wear out. you car uses a 3/4 lug nut, so a good rule of thumb is 32 psi and 100 ft.lbs. of torque. there is usually a sticker in the door jam of the drivers side door.
There should be a sticker inside your drivers door, mine is and I also have an 04.
I set mine at 34psi which is recommend
- 2004 Cavalier - 124k, owned since new
DO NOT FOLLOW THE TIRE'S MAX PSI # !
GM says 30psi for all 4 wheels. 32psi should be good enough for daily driving. 34psi is recommended for long highway trips or when your car is carrying lots of weight for a extended period of time, like car pooling.
Also check pressure once a month min.

I have a sticker, it just doesn't tell me tire pressure, all it tells me is the weight of the car. I'm pretty sure it hasn't been in an accident, after all it is a "Certified Used GM pre-owned vehicle" still under factory warrenty and an extended Certified used warrenty until march
Alright I found it, its on the center pillar opposite of the driver side door. The correct pressure is 30 PSI for anyone who is wondering
Here is the deal. I have been running mine at 40 PSI. That is what they were at when I got the car. They have been running at that pressure for 30,000 miles. The outside edges are pretty worn, which is definitely not typical of overinflated tires. The tires have hit several large pot holes and have not popped, and there is no sign of belt breakage. Yes, my alignment is fine, the tires will stay where they are.

I run anywhere from 28-32, depending on temp.
