Hello,
I just purchased (for better or worse) a 2000 Cavalier z24. I was surprised to find it doesn't have remote unlocking. It has power locks and the inside of the trunk lid looks like it has a solenoid or something to unlock it - there isn't a button on the dash. Did z24's come with remote locking as standard? If so, does anybody know if it is possible to program a remote to work with this car?
Thanks for your help - I am now reading this site like crazy to learn more about my new car!

it should have it because my 2001 sunfire had keyless entry. sounds like the older owner lost the remote.
buy a remote from wherever and off to the dealership to get it programmed
I bought a remote on ebay for $35 and programmed it myself in 5 minutes...

and you don't have a 00+ j either
buy a remote off ebay, take it to the dealership to get reprogrammed. 00+ fobs need to be programmed from the dealer. they shouldn't charge you much
no, the 2000 z24 does not have a remote trunk lock within the car. It does however have a remote trunk lock on the stock keyring remote.
