Okay - a 2004 sunfire with a 2.4L motor - anyone else think this a bit strange - unless you've swapped out the 2.2L Ecotec for a LD9 or a 2.4L Eco.
I make this comment - because the stock motor on all 2004 Sunfires is the (L61) 2.2L Ecotec.
As for mods for the 2.2L Ecotec - literally the sky's the limit - in full drag racing trim these motors are pushing out near 1,000 hp. For street legal Ecotecs -it's quite possible to get 350-400whp out of your car.
As for options - basically what do you want to do it - Turbocharged (Hahn), Supercharged (GMPP), Nitrous, N/A or practical any combination there of.
im srry.. it was late at night and i was not totally into it.. yeah its a 2.2l eco... srry..
so.. where do i look?
i wana start off small
like i said with exhuast..
but not loud.. im not into that.. unless i could some how harness a sound that sounds like a v8
i dont like zzzzzzzzzzzzz (stupid imports)
ummm....what about bigger injectors..
change intake?
nething!!!
wana do this so bad...
Intake, Header, Exhaust, high flow cat is a good place to start. And the higher flowyou are (better for performance) the more it is going to make the sound you are claiming you don't want to make. there is no way to make a 4 cyl sound like a V8 or V6. The only way you can make those sounds is to swap those engines in. There are some guys on here who have gotten a very deep sound from there exhaust by using glass packs and such. But like I said better flow gets you the sound you don't want.
With the ecotec engine the possiblities are pretty much endless. It all depends on how much money you want to spend, and what results you want to see from your car.
Check out Turbo Tech Racing,Aplus Performance, look into the Group Purchase Forum and Classifieds sections as well.Read all the STICKIES and FAQ'S that should be enough info. to get you started.

ok so thanks for all the .. "help"???
i read alot of the stuff and understand whats going on a lot more..
now i know its not worth the money to go buy a new intake... when im going to turbo charge it right?
I have 4 questions for now..
what injectors do i want to run if i want to run a turbocharager?(same for coil upgrade/plugs and wires) AND do i have to get the computer re done since the turbocharger?
what turbocharger kit do i want to run??? LINKS???
what exhaust and how much of it do i want to run since im gona turbocharge?(like headers back or cat back???)
I am looking to change the throttle body... what do i want to change with?
I looked at alot of the links but none of the items say they will fit my car... (or any car)... so i dont want to go buy somethign that is not for mine...like i said before.. i want it to be a sleeper as much as possible. I'm looking to get a carbon fiber hood and trunk( unless someone says its not worht it)... and get it painted back to stock color..
thanks agian
Injector size is going to depend on the boost / power output you are looking to make
You are going to need a FMU, HP Tuners or someway to compensate for all the new air you engine is going to be taking in
Hahn sells a kit, but it is best to build your own. (just need to read and get upto par with what going on or I can help you out)
You are going to want to run a full exahust. with turbo bigger is better (to an extent)
Can't help you out with the info on the TB for an ecotec, i know there are companies that sell them but thats about all i know.
And Carbon Fiber is always worth it
