I have an 02 cav, and its a 2200, basic car. It's an auto and the shifter is like P R N D 1 2 3(Or close) Does this indicate my tranny is a 3-speed, or a 4-speed? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sweet, I thought someone on here said that they never ahd the 4's till '03. But anyway, the 4's are a little better than the 3's correct?

Yes the 4 speeds are better than the 3 speeds. More gears = better ratios. Most of the time.
The 4 speeds have been around seince before the 3rd Gen J-body.
4 speed = better mpg.
