my 2.2 is a little smaller than the 350s ive worked on. so heres my questions
1. if i buy a muffler ment for a dual exhuast on a chevy small block with no h or x pipe and put it on my 03 cavy would it sound for the most part like a muscle car? or like a sputtering old dog?
2. i already know i want a 4-2-1 header flow through cat and muffler. would a 2.5 inch exhuast increase the flow or would it just promote turbulance over a 2.25 in a n/a engine??? back pressure shouldnt be an issue since theres no egr right?

1) no, just a muffler will not give you the sound of a muscle car.
2) 2 1/4" is plenty on a n/a car, there is no need for a 2 1/2"
a 4 cylinder will always sound like a 4 cylinder no matter what muffler you put on it...theres no hiding what it is. All you can do is be careful to avoid the raspy-ricey sound, which a resonator usually helps to eliminate.

any suggestions on a resonator and/or muffler that'll give a 4 banger the throatiest sound possible??? from what ive heard resonators are used to make exhuasts sound quite.....i dont want that.
are rice rockets a high pitch sound? or are the deeper sounds resonated in a way that make them sound like a bumble bee? is it a particular type of muffler or just the little design tweaks?
does anyone have a jbody or even a HONDA that doesnt sound like a noise my little sister can make??

i think you should take your time and learn a little more about cars before you go turbo-ing something when you think that putting a muffler from a V-8 car on a 4 cylinder cav is going to make it sound like a muscle car...but hey good luck
