2 questions, best clutch? and air/fuel gauge troubles..
Thursday, September 06, 2007 3:10 AM
first off I've got an 04 sunfire 5speed

need a clutch, iread alot of the stuff on here.. and other places but still confused on the best setup i should go..

i am N/a right now, but plan to go stage 2 maybe 4 later on..

from what i read i should go either stage 2 or 2+ for the clutch, am i wrong?

what are good brands, compared to others. and best locations to snag one cheap

second question

i installed a air fuel gauge, and it said to hook to one of the wires on the 4 wire o2 senor...

ok i did, if you know the sensor it has 2 white, a black, and a greay..

right now i have it hooked up to one of the white ones, and my gauge is saying it is allways lean..

does that mean i need to put it on the other white one? or did i do something wrong..

the instuctions say to put on the "high" wire verses the "low" wire that comes from the controll modual( or w/e it is)

it says one is 12v and one is ground... i drew the conclution that the black as ground and grey was power. and the 2 white is what i was looking for.

before i go crawling down under agian, i would like a heads up if anyone got any..

thanks

i got glowshift gauge... no im not running wideband.

was told it will still give me enough accuacy to make sure its burning around where it is supposed to.

i will in the future but for now im working on the motor

... i did some research and really coudnt find anything

basically this..

the o2 has 4 wires... grey black and 2 white

i came to the conlusion the black is ground grey is power, and the 2 white is the high and low signal to the computer thinger...(not the computer but the box it runs to)

i had it hooked to the one... and was allways getting lean readings... but when i floored it it would jump to the top of rich.. pegging the needle.

if i put in on the other white wire... then i only get a pegged needle at rich..... no change in any driving conditions..

maybe the gauge is bad? or even the o2????

any links that i missed would be appreciated.. im allways willing to read.. just didnt find what i was looking for.

regardless, if you're not runing a wideband, ifs just a lightshow. the gauge is worthless for any real info.

Wow! Ur on a site for camaros!?!?! I'm sorry, let me bow down! So am I. I'm also on LS1tech and Hybridz as well. Not to mention numerous solstice forums also. Who the hell cares! You come on here talking about stage this and stage that! What the hell does that even mean???? I haven't seen that talked about on LS1tech! Or are you one of those lucky bastards with a v6 auto? "But but but its got t-tops!" Whatever!

Rich was honestly trying to help you, asking hp desires instead of stages... He is a respected member of the website and has been here for quite some time, as have I. We don't even know what you want to do! turbo? Supercharger? Nitrous? N/A? WTF?

Why the hell do you need a clutch in an 04 anyway??? Sounds like to me you haven't even learned how to drive stick yet! Let alone start modding a car with a stick! If you do have a camaro, why are you bothering? Unless it truly is a v6 that my cav will smoke!

So before you come on here talkin crap and thinking you are better than everyone else cause you are "on camaro forums" think about what you are saying and how you are phrasing it!

BTW, narrowband O2 gauges are pretty much useless! They tell you when you have your foot on the floor! Congrats, you should know that without having to look at a gauge!
