2.2 auto to a 2.4 5 spd
Monday, September 17, 2007 4:07 PM
I just bought a 1995 Cavalier 2.2 auto for $200.bucks with a blown motor. I was just interested in what I would need to swap a 5 spd 2.4 from a 95-99 cavalier. The body was in great condition so I thought it would make a great sleeper with possibly a turbo or NOS.Tell me what you think. Thanks for any help you can give .

engine in full dress (all acessories, power steering, alt, water pump) with the exhaust up to the cat, the trans (may as well get the axles too if they're cheap enough, its always good to have spares), the pedals, the clutch hydraulic system(master cyl, lines etc), the engine bay wiring harness, the computer, of course the engine mount, throttle cable, and a few other misc parts.

Honestly... you'd be better off leaving it an auto.... it would make the 2.4 swap a lot easier and cheaper... but if you have the time and money than go for it I quess.

It is fun having a 2.4 engine in a 2.2 body, you just can't beat a sleeper. (look closely at my sig )

even leaving it an auto, you'd still need the trans.
