Quite simply, compared to any Evo or WRX, the cavy is gutless...you have the Ecotec, which is a good engine (arguably the best in the Cavalier/Sunfire) and its relatively easy to give it more power....look around and you can find bolt on superchargers and turbos, which are a good start...you can increase the fuel injector size to add more power, etc...just surf the Go Go Go forums here and see what you would like to do...
Also, please seperate your messages with paragraphs so it isnt so hard to read.
Thanks!
He has a 2.2 LN2 (2200 SFI)
If money is no object, there are plenty of things you can do. A build and boosting application could get you to 250 whp on the stock head pretty safely (with good build).
IT WILL BE EXPENSIVE AND A LONG ROAD. But here are some ideas

as far as pushrods being bad, pushrods have lots of advantages.
the only disadvantage to pushrods is that you will always need space in the head for the pushrod to go, this usually cuts into port area. people will say that the pushrods themselves are a parasitic loss, but ohc motors have that large chain they have to turn and dohc motors will have 2 cams to turn instead of just one. on V motors now instead of 1 cam you will need 2 for sohc and 4 for dohc. that all adds parasitic loss. as var as VVT adaptability, you can do that on a ohv motor also. now instead of having to run 2 or more selenoids you only need one. pushrod motors can be made smaller and lighter becouse you don't have those cams on top ofthe motor. it is also a simpler design and easier to work on. once you have worked on enough motors you will see the advantages of a smaller, lighter, simpler engine. the corvette, viper, gm 3x00 series motors, camaro/T/A, the old HEMI and new HEMI, and some of the fastes mustangs on the road are all ohv. the LSx motors rev from 6000-7000 on stock valvetrain depending on which one you get. and modded ohv motors have been over 9000rpm. ohc has been around for over 50 years, if they were really that superior don't you think ALL cars would have them?
go ahead and cut and paste that to whovere is giving you crap on ohv motors
as fasr as what to do with your ohv cavi, there have been a ton of threads lately about 2200. you can't go very far on here without tripping over very useful 2200 info

Those so naive, so hard headed, so narcissistic, that think that buy their own efforts can single handedly change the world, are always the ones that do.
thxs alot that help a bunch
Too bad you don't still have that eco though, you could look to a saab dealer to find a turbo that would fit. But yea, the ohv really isn't as bad as everyone says it is (most vettes are ohv actually), it can be made into a pretty decent little engine. (Plus I am really enjoying how much easier it is to do P&P on than sohc and dohc)
