how do i tell the engine codes apart...... im looking in the junk yard for an echo tech for my 2000 4 dr cavalier.
It is spelled ecotec...officially pronounced "echo tech"... pronounced "eeko tech" by the masses here.
The engine rpo code is L61. If the cavalier or sunfire is an 03-05 it has an ecotec. But for @!#$s and giggles, here is a post of what the ecotec looks like (minus all of the charge pipes though)...

fixed it for you. I believe some of the pre 2006 malibus were fly by wire. And you certainly can't swap in any of the 06+ ecotec's without extensive work and/or rewiring.

its pretty easy
will it work for a 4 door? and how much did it cost?
hahahah i just read it and now i dont think I have the time to do this. I think im gonna slap a turbo in my 4 dr or a supercharger whichever is cheaper lol

its a stock 2000 4 door chevy cavalier i believe its a 2.2L
