Gauge Cluster

I have a 96 Cavalier as a DD. On my dash, the only gauges I have are MPH, Fuel, Temp. If I get another cluster that has the tach, will it work? I haven't taken it apart yet so I didn't know how it hooked up in the back. If so, what years will work?

No, I'm not trying to manual shift my auto.
No, I'm not trying to make it faster.
No, I don't want any glowing gauges.

I'd feel better about seeing where the RPM's are at. This is just my DD, I'm not too famliar with the car. I'm an LS1 Guy.

Thanks.

get one from a 96 z24 and swap it in. anything from 95-99 must be from the same year i believe and anything 00+ is interchangible.

It just plugs in I'm assuming? And isn't there some proceedure you have to do when done? I searched and saw something about it but can't find the sticky that explains it. Thank you!

Did the swap this afternoon. The cluster was $16 from the junkyard Looks mint and works fine. I have 60,000 less miles now too. Thanks for the help!
