Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could give me a short write-up on how to check, and change my Transmission Fluid. I have a 99 Manual Z24. Sorry for such a newbie question but I was wondering if someone could tell me what to do exactly underneath there. Thanks ALOT for any posts.
If you plan on doing this with a jack, have fun! All you have to do is locate the drain plug on the tranny. First you remove the fill plug (at the top of the transmission, often hard to see from topside) and then unscrew the drainplug. Its not really any harder than an oil change. I don't know where exactly the fill plug is on the Zs, but if its not immediately visible from under the hood, look around for a red, orange, or yellow plug on the transmission. As for fluid, the "synthetic gear lubricant" used in the isuzu (again, not sure about the Zs) is just 5w30 synthetic.
