There's a reason I put this in the newbies forum...
Is there anything besides the Koni Yellow Struts, and Eibach Sportline springs that I will need to replace my suspension? Besides the obvious like tools and a lift, are there any car parts that I need? The Yellow's use the stock strut mounts, you just have to bore them out, correct? Thanks.
first of all what are you trying to do? do you want a stock suspensions again? if so you dont need to spend the money on konis if you dont want to
I might be getting a stock setup for the winter, but this question is in reference to the spring/summer/performance setup. Thanks.
i believe you will need to cut the stock struts and use them as inserts for the koni's.
i think someone else can confirm that, but im almost positive the stocks need to be cut
Okay, but there are no pieces that I'm actually missing, right? Obviously I'll need to get a new pair of stock struts if what you said is true, because mine have been blown for a while now
if you using stock springs there is no need for the konis.
as far as cutting yes the fronts are inserts only and you need to cut the front strut above the knuckle. the rears are a direct bolt in. some require drilling out a slightly bigger hole for the rear mounts. some people had to and other didnt
I'm going to go through 2 suspension setups. This winter (like within a few weeks) I'm going to go through a stock suspension just for the winter. Once March/April comes around, I'm going to upgrade to Konis/Eibachs. Thanks for the help guys.
eibach what? prokit or sportlines? im just asking becasue you could save yourself some money depending on what you get.
I was going to get the Sportlines. Was actually trying to buy them off of Brian "SpeedRacerZ" just waiting for him to get back to me on shipping costs.
why are going to spend money on a stock suspension just to replace it in a few months. waste of time and money.
ill have a set of sportlines for sale after this weekend if interested

Because I'm currently on stock struts with cut springs due to the previous owner. I just snapped an axle which in part was probably my fault, but I know that the suspension didn't help. If worse comes to worse, I'll just keep the stockers for a little while longer than I plan to. I just want to get the springs/struts for the konis/sportlines while I can still find some cheap deals from people selling them so I'll buy them earlier than I need to.
Joey, I'm still trying to work it out with Brian. I know he's a busy guy but if he ends up getting rid of them somewhere else, or it just falls through, I'll let you know. Thanks.
get the mounts as well.
might as well.
