New newb
Sunday, March 09, 2008 8:19 PM
I got my Cav a few months ago and I was lovin it until I pulled a stupid. (The ass who thought I wanted to race didn't help but I still admit to being stupid)

I'm not a total newb to cars or boards, but I am new HERE. I've been lurking here for a month or so, yes I use the search button, no I will not ask about those stupid electric blowers or "chips" that lean your fuel map out!

I've been buying parts up and here in a few weeks I'll take her to a frame rack and get everything fixed up. I'll make a sig one of these days...

Anyway, here are some pics of the car post-wreck and some of the parts I've got thus far. Yes, I know I should get it fixed before worrying about headers and stuff, but I'm doing it anyway so I can just knock it out in a weekend with some help when it's ready.

Sorry if the pics take forever to load.

Two lane road, one way, I needed in the left lane to turn left, so I gunned it. But, so did the guy in the 5.0 F150..... I couldn't get roasted, so I whipped his ass.... (Don't know how......Ford.... ) Too late. This is where the stupid comes in. Instead of going straight and going around I tried to hang the turn at like 35. What I fought was a bunch of railroad ties and old peices of railroad sticking up outta the ground next to the road....

Already got a new bumper, quite stock looking. The exterior is staying stock, save for Maybe an air-splitter if I ever get a blower. The interior is getting Sony xplode 2 way 6x9's in the rear, xplode 6.5" in the doors, an xm radio setup, and possibly a few LED's under the dash. Probably a 12" sub and a decent cap. The LD9 is getting headers, intake mani, CAI, UDP, a test pipe (shhh!!), Gregs ignition and coil springs, and I might buy a set of cams if it becomes convenient.
A good cleaning for sure! It's also getting a set of either yokohama s-drive or some hankook H405's, drilled front rotors (Damn those rear disk's), and 16" American Racing Estrella alloys.

Ya just had to get me started

Whats up with the 2 different headders in the pic?

That does suck though man.... I hate people like that... at least when an F-150 tries to race me.... I'm a mile ahead of them before I realize it.... fix that mofo up... mod it..... an take turns slower and all will be good

Seriousely though..... good luck with it.

Oops, yeah drums. I read the thread on the neon swap, but hell I'll probably just keep the drums. I wonder if putting discs on the back would screw up the brake balance enough to matter.... One is an intake manifold, the other is a header (in the pic). I'm kinda pissed at the intake mani though, the stock one has a groove for the tb gasket ya know, but this thing doesn't. And IMHO, rtv sealant is a pain!

Next week I'll be taking it to a frame shop. Another week or so after that, and I'll have a parts car from a scrapyard. I hope.

They are not headers, one is OBX header and the other one is OBX intake manifold which by the way won't work on your car. There is a post here somewhere about the OBX intake manifold.

Good Luck with the car.
