HI I heard u could swap a K20 race motor from a Nissan and put in a cavalier.... I was just wonding if this motor won't work what motor will work... building the cavalier for a street class at the local drag strip.. its a 97 cavalier 2dr 2.2 nonecotech 5speed....
HAHAHAHAHA tell the kid you heard that from to stop sniffing the nitrous. Swap in a 2.4(LD9), 2.2 Ecotec(L61), or a 3X00 series v-6. They all are alot easier to swap in than that K20.
Not only do I find this post to be @!#$ downright stupid, but the K20 is a popular
Honda engine.
ok thanks... i don't know alot about these cars... just started getting into the turner area.... i got a ? were can i find these motors....
under the hood is a good place to start lol
no but seriously best bet is local bone yards
2009 Pontiac Trans Am Concept Z ........ i love the car !!!!

To the OP... i'd have someone else do any sort of motor swap for you until you learn more about engines... now that someone else should probably NOT be the guy who told you a honda engine is a nissan engine and that its popular swap in to our cars...
swap in the 190 hp quad4..itll mount up to your engine bay with ease and you can even use the tranny that goes with it
Correct me if i am wrong but dont quad4 blow fast? i have known a lot of people that have had problems with them.
Ummmm no the quad 4's dont blow fast..... some people have problems with the coils some times (like me).... but my 2.4 is more than happy to rev through its power band all day withought complaining. I've never actually had any problems with the engine itself. They are actually fiarly reliable rev happy engines.
Also... I thought that a K20 was what came in US versions of the 240sx...... If thats a honda engine.... then whats the Nissan engine that came in 240's then? If anyone says SR20DET im gunna smack you LOL I'm talking about the US versions.
I know there were SR20DE's in the early 90's US sentras. Thats what you could be thinking about. My high school buddy had one, it was a peppy car.

I said SR20DE, not SR20DET. So put that hand down.

thats because GMs original oem head gasket was declared defective...and has long since been remedied...the gaskets we use on them now dont have the same issues
