what are some good motor mounts I need to replace all 3 mounts and i want to see what you people use on ur cars.
i have mounts from turbo tech racing. i like them. what transmission do you have? i see from your profile its an auto, a 3 speed or 4 speed?
I think its a 4 speed!
it has 1-3 and drive
Im running the RKsport engine mounts, but i have TTR tranny mounts awaiting install.
sounds like a 4 speed. If thats the case i recommend turbo tech. They are the only company that makes an aftermarket 4 speed mount. One thing to warn you about is that if you go to poly mounts you will get a little more vibration in the car but its nothing drastic.
Another thing is that TTR is has a super good deal on these things going on in the Group purchase forum.
It looks like the rksport mounts are the ones im gonna get .
I have to get them soon cause my mechanic said i should get it fixed soon and he wants $750 with all the parts and everything, and i dont want to pay that much.
so on a scale of 1 to 10 hot hard would it be to do all 3 mounts?
scale of 1-10 i'd say 4 or 5. its not hard, all you need is some tools and a jack to support the engine while you change them. If your going to do it yourself i recommend picking up a haynes repair manual. It'll be the best $20 you ever spend. keep in mind that if you go with the rk sport mounts that they don't make a tranny mount for your car.
yes, mounts are a very easy install. do 1 at a time, and you will be fine.
I have heard good things about the TTR mounts, but run prothane on mine. i did not notice any increased vibrations....but i have the manual tranny.
just wondering, if you have bad mounts or broken ones etc: will that affect gas mileage and or the tranny?
my bottom mount is busted, and you can move the entire engine with one hand, i think im going to get the upper and lower mounts from ttr but i have been wondering about this...
TTR Upper, RK Lower DogBone, TTR Tranny Bushings here.

that is definitely not good... you need to fix that up. I'm not sure what it will break first if you leave it like that but things will break soon enough. As for gas mileage i'm sure the broken mount won't be helping the situation. I'd get it fixed then see if it helps or not. I'd recommend ttr mounts but if its gonna be a bit of a wait hit up a junkyard to get a cheap lower while waiting.

My wife's been driving around with a broken lower motor mount for 2 years, makes a nasty clunking when she puts it in gear but hasn't damaged anything yet. Finally replaced it the other day with a $15 one from rockauto.com
