I am glad to be part of the forums here guys, have been looking for a good cavalier forum and this is the one. A couple of days ago I decided to buy a 1997 Chev Cavalier to save on gas mileage from my truck(can see in background of car pictures.) I am new to the whole car thing, I have always been into the lifted truck scene. Anyways, onto the car, picked it up for $500 from the local salvage yard, as you can see there are a few dents in it but I have since got a fender for free and have it painted to match, also has a newer 2.2L and a 5sp manual. All the car needs now is a new window and some small things(brakes, maybes bearings ect.) to get it plated and saftied. I am hoping to do a few things to the car after that, lights(projectors and HID's), rims(16's-18's), lowered(lowering springs), trying to keep it clean and not riced out. Here are a few pic's of the car, tell me what you think and any suggestions as what you think would look good on it.
nice grab... get rid of them ugly vinyls though...
hey there newb
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
yeah I would ditch the flaps, graphics, and bra, get a fender and go.
Sounds like a decent start, and for that price cant complain.
I like the factory z-24 body "kit" on that style, some nice updated tails (even stock 00+) would be nice too.
for $500 you cant complain at all!
some cheap/free mods that i'd do to start off is debadge it, remove the hood cover, remove the mud flaps, get rid of the vinyl graphics, and throw on some clear corners and clear bumper lenses. those will improve the looks dramatically.
Check out my build thread!
all of the above times 10
