Hi, am wondering what is the best intake for a 1999 sunfire gt.? I was wondering if the Aem short Ram was the only one that work, or is there others. thxs

This was the style of the intake I bought from eBay. It's a little different from the other designs. It removes the entire intake assembly. The others leave the black plastic part that connects to the throttle body. I liked this one a lot. I just put a K&N filter on it.

Not ALL others leave the stock housing. Just most of the cheap ones.

The AEM short ram WAI (WARM AIR INTAKE) is a full replacement, &

it seems like the one you have listed in the above auction is a knock-off

copy of it. It should fit well.

P.S.

WAI (Warm Air Intake) is mounted & located in the engine bay.

CAI (Cold Air Intake) is mounted in the engine bay, but the end of it including the filter
must be located OUTSIDE of the engine bay to consider calling it a CAI (Cold Air Intake).

in my experience the cheap knock-off AEM wanna-be ebay intake works rather well. ive had a sleuth of different intakes and none seemed to be any better than the other.

if you worried about the filter on the ebay one just go get a nice k&n and viola, you'll have a nice intake.

but, if you dont much care about price and want one of the best QUALITY ones, go with the AEM.

Home-made. End of story.

how do you make a home made intake and were can i get the parts?. also is it cheaper or cost more?

best intake for your car is the stock one. if you want the engine bay to be more "attractive" (for lack of a better word), and want your car to sound a little better, get an intake. otherwise, its just a waste of money. its been proven that an intake does little to nothing to our cars.

all you people with intakes can go ahead and flame away. take your car to a dyno with the stock intake and see how much HP your $200 intake adds...you'll be disappointed.

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!

friend got aem intake and had car dyno. he got like 5-6 hp that aint too bad for a little car. i mean everything unless its a turbo or s/c will give you only 3-10 hp i know that i dont mind its still beter then what i had lol.

i never dynoed my car, but ed just proved it. whats 5HP on a car that came with 150 stock at the crank...probably 130ish at the wheels. woohoo i spent 200 bucks and now i have 135hp.

lol as long as you can hear it am happy lol and i like shiney things. also if you know a cheap intake that will work a lil link it. plz not that 10 $ ebay one that does 0 hp and am out 10 $. friend has it his saturn load as heck but..... ya still a 106 hp car id cry to have that dyno lol.

hey does any one know if the cosmo intake are any good? its like 100$ on ebay looks like a aem or that so j/w

a pipe is a pipe bro, youre paying for the name. but the garbage $10-20 intake system then just buy a k&n filter. thats the best way to do it.
