i think you are referring to the breather filter.

If you mean the real little filter coming off the valve cover, its known as a "breather filter. It replaces the rubber hose(vacum line) that connects the valve cover to the stock intake box over the throttle body. It's normally only used when the stock airbox is being replaced by an intake. Also, in some places, it is illegal to have one(not that anyone pays attention to that). I'm pretty sure it's illegal in Canada.

hope that helps

This mod really helps. It allows the internal pressure of the engine to escape, which allows the engine parts to rotate easier. Freeing up horsepower. People have gained an average of 30 WHP from just adding this filter.

If you really believe the crap i just spewed, good for you. Now go DIAF

30 horses from a breather filter... deff not. especially on a near stock cavalier lol.

if you can i would suggest just getting a silicone hose and running it back into the after market intake. IMO breather filters are a half ass way to make installation easier. all proper aftermarkets including the aem cold air for the eco run it back into the tubing.

Yea, my post was directed at the OP, 190 hp out of basic bolt-ons. He'll believe that that little filter will add HP as long as i give a reason with enough technical bull crap that he doesnt understand.
