whats up guys !! need some tech. help! i got a 96 cav.(plain jane), a.k.a. (the turd). i need to know if this is normal or somethings wrong that i need to fix! when you step on the gas car climbs to about 50-60 and then pulls hard to right side, scared the crap outta me the first time i got on it,about put me in the ditch! i drove one other one about five years ago some friends of mine were putting together that did the same thing... they said it was torque steer whatever the heck that is. like i said i need to know if this is normal for these cars, and what i can do to fix the problem, exiting on the interstate is a trip especially in heavy traffic, really don't need the car taking off when trying to jockey for position on the highway.any help would be great!
thx anton

You might need an alignment. Check your front tires for abnormal wear. OH.... and i believe torque steer only occurs when going WOT from a stop.

just had an alignment,do to the fact i replaced the sub-frame and spindles,i know the shocks kinda suck...do you think the struts and stuff could cause it to pull alittle harder than usual??

tourqe steer probably but not in a 2.2 doing that speed. In my 99 sunfire i just did the 2.4 swap in does it till fourth and also when gearing down. Also it could be possibly you have a bad mount on the right side causing more power transfer to that side some how.
