Ok, here's the deal.........
I have a 2000 Cav Z24 with the 2.4. I bought it new and I want to do some minor mods.
What type of appearance mods can I do on the outside and inside? I keep looking at everyone's pics and get ideas but I really am a newbie to the car mod world.
I have already tinted my windows at 5% all the way around. I have added a Z-24 vinyl to the windshield, added a glow gauge, and thats about it.
I refuse to get rid of this car. It is starting to get the "clear coat cancer" on the roof. The car has all the options that I am aware of but it is time to turn some heads!
I know I need some wheels but I am not sure of chrome or gunmetal at this point.
The car is black with charcoal gray interior.
Automatic, stock stereo w/cd.
I pay my ex-wife $1000/month child support so my spending will be a little limited and will take some time but as I said before, I REFUSE to sell or buy another car.
What are some simple suggestions?
I am not interested in any motor mod other than maybe a cold air intake but are they really worth it on an automatic?
Stereo is not of interest either. I use to do SPL competitions when I had my mini truck but that was about 15 years ago and I am just getting to old for all that stereo stuff.
I use to follow Low Rider magazine here in the mid-west but again, many years ago.
Right now, I just want something that will help bring a touch of the "kid" back in me so I will not feel so old!!---
First of all, don't get chrome rims.. Get Alloy. Or since your Cav is black, a flat black would look good on it, kinda keep with the black theme.. The Chrome will stand out A LOT.
Hmm.. I'm not sure what else really, I'm kinda new to Cavaliers, and I want to mod on mine some as well.. One of my goals is a spoiler, mine doesn't have one stock..
Have you thought about maybe Decaling the sides of the car?
At first, I wanted chrome rims but have since steered away from that.
I dont know about black though. You really think those would look good?
Obviously rims is my first start. I have spoke with my wife and she thinks we should have a new paint job next year.
She wants me to go with the "pontiac orange"---YUCH!!
There would be WAY to much work involved in a complete body color change and I just cant seem to get her to understand that.
Vinyls........not sure on that. I have not really looked into that theory.
Right now I am thinking of some custom side mirrors, as a quick exterior detail look. I have seen some pretty cool ones.
I had a black Versa and I was looking at some flat black rims... I personally think black on black looks good.. Unless you want to get alloy or something and paint them a Red.
As for the "Pontiac Orange" that's going to cost a lot, and that's not that great of a color.. lol.. I also if im not mistaken Orange is also higher on insurance, with red and yellow.. thats why its not a 'common' color like white and black and stuff..
Custom side mirrors would look good, got links to any that you've found?
Chrome can look great on black when done right.
A simple five spoke design, 18 inches, etc.
Just don't put goofy looking "hood" wheels on it.

They probably won't fit right. I bought a similar design like those & they didn't fit at all.
PLUS - You haven't added your car to your registry, so there's no telling if they fit
yours or not???????
