An Introduction...

I understand that we can't all be winners, not all of us can be gifted, and not all of us have $30K for a car. That's why I keep the Balance. I have a 2002 Black Cavalier, with 66K miles on the LN2. Five speed of course; I wouldn't drive anything else. Yet nothing is done to it as far as cosmetics and performance, or lack there of. I come here to fill that empty space in my brain, as I am intelligent to a point, yet as smart as a pet rock most of the time. I done basic tune-ups and maintence on the Cavy. Just recently I dropped in a K&N filter, (thought I'd give it a shot). I've been in the process of fixing minor things, like the black trim piece around the radio and gauges was smashed all to pieces, got that fixed, 1-0. But the realized the piece really close to the windsheild is made into the rest of the dash, I have no idea how to fix that, 1-1. And for some reason, my phone charger will plug into the cig lighter next to the steering wheel and work just fine, but when I put a cig lighter into it, it blows the fuse, 1-2. WTF? Oh and I need a good passenger side door, a BFI trash truck backed into the side of it one night and split; no video evidence and no witnesses, 1-3. So I need to restore the balance. I do take very good care of the car in it's current condition. I'll post pics at a later date. But my goals for the Cav are not to far out of reach: I don't want to be the fastest, I just want to be faster than certain people. I don't have to best looking car, I just bet by the time I'm done it'll look better than your girlfriend, J/K. I just enjoy the car, way too much sometimes. I think my $5000 Cav rides better than $30K car. I'm just fortunate to be blessed with the oppurtunity to gain the knowledge from some of the Vets. I owe you debt of gratitude. May the games begin.

first of all its going to cost a pretty penny to make it fast. second the piece closest to the windshield always breaks it happens to all of us I believe rksport makes a plastic piece that snaps right over it. its about 130 shipped I believe. and it does come apart you just have to take the whole dash apart = pain in the ass.

The trash truck incident is crazy that sucks man.

I would look up your local pick and pull yards for a new door. I managed to find one the same color as my car, pulled it myself, they let me keep the pannel and glass and everything in and on it for $125.00.

For the top dash piece, there was a member on here who worked for a company who made OEM colored covers for that. That could be another good option for you on that.

For performance you have a big hill to overcome starting with an LN2. I won't be one of the people who says you can't make them fast, or even quick. But I will say you have more money and work to get to where the Eco and LD9 guys can get much cheaper and easier. I would personally recomend starting with the B&M Short throw. That is a 1-person, straight forward, 45 minute job. To this day, as far as bang for the buck and fun to use, I still think that was my favorite mod I ever did to my Cavalier. Other than that, for just a little bit of added zip for as cheap as possible, you can get a decent header from one of the forum vendors, as well as a good stainless cat back and a cold air intake. None of them individually(or even together) are going to give you a gigantic jump in power, but those together will give you a small boost for their money.

I don't know what kind of money you plan to budget towards looks or performance, so I can't really go on any further than I have for suggestions.

OH, and Tim(99redz24) is gunna get pissed if he see's you have the same pic for your sig as he does lol.

Eh...I'll definitely look into a new sig...thanks. And I appreciate all the feedback. I think I'm beggining to like it here. I know the LN2 is the butt engine of them all, I just want to be different. I'll definitley look into the header and intake option. I was also thinking about a megan racing exhaust, but I'd hate to here that thing just cruising on the highway at 70+. And as far as the B&M; though about getting one with the next check. Had one in my civic and it was a blast. Please don't ban me for owning a civic. At least I sold it...

Most of us aren't brand hating, brand loyal, close minded morons, so don't expect hate just for having owned a Civic. Some car owners grow up and don't worry about that crap... Not like the ClubSI folks.
