Hi, I'm from NY. I've had two Cavaliers. A 1997 base model coupe, and right now I have a 1998 Cavalier Z24. I've been a member here for a while but haven't really trolled the threads much. Just thought I'd introduce myself and ask what you think of my Cav?

DropTop, no, but I'd be interested in getting into it. Are there regular meets around here? I think I saw one in the Compusa parking lot a few weeks ago.

James, I've been to Savannah a few times. I used to go out to the 1/8 mile in South Butler.

Yeah the one I saw was at Arena 51.

You mean Mount Reed Blvd? Is there a track or do they just street race?

yea...they started at Arena 51 because BJs was broken up weekly with cops...yea sadly i mean street race

Does Monroe County really have nothing better to do than break up meets?

I guess I'll stay away from the races, it's not like I'd be able to keep up with half of them, and I'd rather not get some stupid ticket for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Thanks for the info, do you regularly attend the Arena 51 meets?

Eh..depends if i feel like driving out there...recently no...because the amount of ppl has been little...and idk man my buddies got a cavy z like yours and hes eating stubborn civics lol...but ya monroe county really gets pushy when it comes to this stuff...especially after that guy crashed his jag.. on lake ave a few months back...and they tried to link it to street racing..idk how..and idk why but its bogus

Re: From Rochester NY

Yeah I can take most civics, but I figured there would be quite a few newer cars there that I couldn't.

I heard about that Jag, that's messed up. It's sucks that the people who follow the laws and don't street race get stereotyped because of the people who do race and do stupid things.

I got pulled over last year on Scottsville road at about 2am for my exhaust. I was just out for a late night cruse and they were looking for a dwi. Luckily he didn't give me a ticket, he was actually a pretty cool guy. Just said that I should get it changed and let me go. Since then I quieted it down, it was pretty obnoxious back then.

I'll roll by Arena 51 next Sunday, probably a bit cold for a meet now though.
