lowering my sunfire

im not new to this site but i just put some icw 17's on yesterday and was wondering about lowering..... i have 205/45/17 and the wheel is about half a inch or a inch from the struts and i was thinking i couldent lower it cause of that....is this true?

When you lower a car the spring set on the strut doesnt move. It's just a shorter spring.

id say lower it with agx's and a pro kit its only a 1.5" drop and its pretty easy on the pockets

thats wat im thinking but i will never put a body kit on a car. i have never like body kits only lip kits

X2... Although body kits look ok on some cars, I prefer the clean, stock look.
I'm gonna go with arrival_04_eco and say the prokit with the AGX's... while easy on the wallet, a nice setup.

also, I like your choice of rims, they look good on the car. One question, though. Did you take the spoiler off or is that one of the few that came without one? Ethier way, it looks good.

so what exactly is the question? are you concerned that the strut will hit the tire or that the tire will hit the fender when you lower it?

as mentioned, when you lower the car, the relation from the strut to the tire doesnt change.

just a little advice if you dont mind...but try to stay away from cheap coilovers...lol

personally i didnt like it...rides like a tank ...or something really heavy with no suspension..lol

jeeze i wish i had a half inch between my wheel and strut. the Tein SS's are ~1/4 inch or less away from my tires, and im lowered about 2 inches all around. but it doesnt ever rub.
