how hard is replacing the fuel pump on a 96 2.2 cavalier?

Hello, I was just wondering how hard/long it took you or that you know of for a fuel pump on a 96 2.2L? Would it be easier to just buy a new tank and new pump and just swap them out? Or should I just have a shop do it for $750? Thanks

drop the tank, pull out the old module, drain the tank, clean it, change the fuel filter, put in the new module, put the tank back up.

$750.00???? Good lord.

I have replaced 4 of them so far since I have had this car. It isnt' that bad get a set of jackstands and keep your floor jack handy. Air tools if you have them speed up the process by 100%, 2 bolts in the rear bands that hold the tank up undo those put your jack under your tank (mine is metal) to lower it down, undo your hoses/connections pop the new one in and reverse install.

Not bad at all spend your $224.00 for the new pump and save the rest in about 2-3 hours of labor and the smell of gas.
