I am new to the forum and i was wondering if someone could give me some help with my 99 sunfire GT 2.4 that I have just bought. It is misfiring and hesitating with accelerates and takes off from a dead stop. It is blowing out a little smoke out of the exhaust. I have just replaces the spark plugs, wires, coil packs, and coil pack housing. The ignition module was tested and it is working fine. My dad hooked up a code reader to the car and it read off a code to the MAP sensor, I am not sure if this would make the car behave this way. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
you replaced the spark plug wires on the 2.4?
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
we dont have wires on 2.4 ld9s ... boots yea but no wires.. oh and as for the MAp sensor. check the hose that leads to it.. its prone to dry out and crack causing the ld9 to either sputter or die. happened to mine. i also threw a map sensor code.

I've had the same issue on my quad4. This hose is located DIRECTLY BELOW the map sensor and is roughly 4-6" long. You might want to make sure that the previous owner had the motor timed correctly. If the timing is off, you may have many other issues (bent valves, scored pistons, etc.).
Worst case scenario if you can't figure it out, pay the money to get a professional diagnosis. That will save you from just randomly replacing parts in the blind.
swap a eco/end thread j/k....but what color is the smoke blueish/white/black. blueish=oil, white=coolant, black=way rich. and if its blue or white its most likely piston rings, headgasket, or a bad valve seal.
