best ignition for 2003 cavalier 2.2 ecotec?

what's up everybody!ok so i'm a total nube to this site and just getting into really enjoying my car.i've installed a short ram intake,and ngk iridium plugs.now i'm not trying to make this car incredibly fast or anything but i would like to make some mods to it.i've done a little interior lighting and stuff but now really trying to do some bolt-on stuff to it.if anybody could tell me what the best ignition module or ignition coils are to run with this engine i'd greatly appreciate it.thanx alot guys.

oh yeah and what if any improvements would i see in performance/throttle response/horsepower whatever with this mod?sorry for the double post.thanx!

leave the ignition alone.

unless you go with a turbo, there's no need to touch it. stock is more than adequate.

really?i mean i wanna at least replace the whole coil pack cuz it's old as hell,and i just figured maybe there'd be one that could add a little bit (even if miniscule) more power and performance?

No touchy, hands off.

You'll be fine. I have a S/C on my eco with the stock coils and it runs fine.

springs are a waste, they do nothing.


if the OP really wants to upgrade the ignition, look into the MSD 6212 ignition box.. should be right around 680 bucks
although most of its features will be useless to you until you either turbocharge the car or get HPTuners

you won't see any gain at all without other mods

yup.it's on my list of things to do.i'm also gonna put on some engine mounts.i was just trying to think of a few other things but from the sounds of it ignition should'nt be one of them.what do u think about a larger throttle body?that should help with the short ram i have on right?

not untill you port the head/get new cams.
