My LD9 is bad and I want to do an ecotec swap.. is it possible?
Tuesday, June 09, 2009 2:28 PM
I just got a 2000 z24 with the 5 speed transmission and I have a 2.4L twin cam LD9 in it, the third piston is slapping and my friend has a 2.2L ecotec with 44K miles on it he said he would give me for 275 bucks with all the wireing. I was wondering what else I will need to swap this and how much work it is. What parts will i need? Will everything hook up and will I need different enguine mounts?

Thanks in advance for the advice I am new to this site

Thanks for the link, yes I'm new like I said. I don't know why some people have to be so rude, but thank you for being helpful.

we are not rude. just find it funny you ask if a cavalier engine will fit in another.

its like asking if a mildly bent plug fits in an outlet.

of course you can make it work.
