Hello, I was just wondering if they make a shift kit or short shifter for a 2.2L auto trans? If so where? Thanks!
no short shifter.but there is something called a b+m shiftplus electronic shift improver kit.it's designed for any 4 speed auto tranny's. there's a thread on it in the transmission forum.seems like it's a solid product from reviews.i'm still pretty new to the whole mod thing so u might want some more opinions than just mine.lol.but i think i'm gonna go with it.
You cant put a short shifter on an automatic, they are made to shorten the distance it takes to shift a manual transmission. If you just want to change the look of your shifter, they do make automatic @!#$ knobs. Just search around the web and u should be able to find some. One place u can try is AndysAutosport.com, they carry a lot of good products and might have what u are looking for. The shift kit is a great item for an auto. I rode in a car that had one installed and it was a night and day difference. The shifts are a lot firmer and quicker. As far as 1/4 times, i cant say if it would lower them, but i would imagine it might help. U might also want to look into a torque converter, they make a good bang for your buck. Some of the performance stickies here have some real good info about auto trans, i have learned a lot just by reading them, so check them out, and learn all u can, it will help u out in the long run. Just remember, when it comes to cars, u can never learn too much.
You can shorten your automatic shifter, although it's just for looks, it won't provide any performance gains.
I would also highly recommend the B&M Shift Plus if you have a 4-speed auto. It's easy to install and makes a very enjoyable difference in the feeling of your daily driver.
