I just recently did a motor rebuild on my 1998 Cavalier Z24. It is the JD9. I had a rod knocking in my motor so I had the crankshaft turned. On the night I first fired the car up, it ran smoothly, for about 10-15 minutes. I then turned it off and started cleaning my shop for about 10 minutes. After I finished cleaning, I proceeded to restart my car and whenever I did it was skipping and is still skipping. i replaced the spark plugs, and even tried unhooking the battery for 10-15 minutes to see if that would solve the issue, and it did not. If someone could tell me what it might be, or even what I should do, it would really be appreciated. Thanks.
The motor is shaking, which then makes the car shaking. The car power wise is very doggish and slow.
misfiring I believe is the term you're looking for

Austin check your sensors etc. We rebuilt a 3800 the other night and have the TPS and another sensor mixed up. May also be a bad coil pack.
I found out the problem. Mine was an intake gasket. Fixed it and it runs perfect now. Thanks everyone
