Hello all. I am new on here obviously so please be gentle, lol. I have a 98 Sunfire GT with the 2.4L quad 4 engiine. Love the engine! Owned one years ago in Grand Am before my modding days & that little car was fun. If you told me it didn't have 200 horses back in high school when I had it I wouldn't have believed you. Anyways, need some help with a shift kit. What do they have for our cars? What is the name of our transmission? I don't usually buy a car that is an automatic but I remembered how well this engine performed! Granted the Grand Am had a five speed back in the day...same engine so I got the car. I have found many other bolt-ons for the car & body kits so I am good there. Just need some guidance on shift kit & tranny name. Thanks in advance. I want to make this an awesome all motor car. Already have a nice sleeper AWD turbo rocket....

Oh yeah, one more question. That black box looking deal that connects to the trottle body. Can we do away with that? You know, like with a custom intake tube or is there more to it than that? I plan on trying to take it off but haven't yet.

^what he said,but you don't need to use hp,you can get the b+m shiftkit for it,look in the transmission forum,under the faq,and the box that connects to the throttle body is called a resonator,and yes you can do away with it when you hook up ur new intake.

The B&M isnt as useful as HP but it will do the job.
